Good tidings to you, whether friend, fan, or first-time Kitschmas observer. I know this December is filled with an assortment of conflicting feelings, and that seems perfectly appropriate. Whatever your situation, whatever your headspace, I hope you are taking the time you need to care for yourself and for one another. My aim to write and release a song during this season has helped me keep my head up and carve out space to be creative amidst adversities that had the potential to be overwhelming. For most of this year, I was actually intent on releasing a completely other song that has been hiding in the wings since 2020, but the moment I was open to another idea, the first full line of "Santa Daddy" flew into my brain (like a partridge in a pear tree?) and there was no turning back. That isn't to say that the rest of the song came easy. With a relatively short window of time left, I enlisted the help of my Triple Lutz bandmates to conjure the rest of the tune with me, and little by little, it kept coming more into focus. I never could have gotten to the finish line without the encouragement, support, and relentless rallying of the folks around me. Thank you so very much.

As the cold of winter continues to wrap around us, I hope you can stay warm and hold onto hope.
